Highlights of Mpumalanga

Explore the many intrigues of Mpumalanga, visiting the world famous Kruger National Park and the diverse and rich Sabi Sand.

Days 1 – 3: Restcamp in Kruger National Park, South Africa

Arriving at the airport, you will be met by a safari guide and transferred to Kruger National Park. Accommodation is provided in a bungalow for the first 3 nights of your Mpumalanga tour. From the camp you can drive around the park, watching the various wildlife species. There are restaurants and a small store to get basic necessities.

You will have the choice of camping or staying in a bungalow - self-catering or fully catered. The restcamp offers communal ablution and kitchen facilities. To cool off on those hot summer days, there is a lovely swimming pool and Selati Restaurant - where you get to eat in this old colonial train!

Wildlife in the area includes Giraffe, Kudu, Impala, Duiker, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Hippo, Lion, Leopard, Wild Dog and Hyena. July is usually the coldest month, while the rest of the year ranges from temperate to very hot.

Days 4 & 5: Elephant Plains Lodge, Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa

On day 4 you go on a morning game drive and have breakfast. After breakfast you will be transferred to Elephant Plains Lodge in Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The lodge will provide daily activities like game drives and bush walks, complemented by delicious cuisine and luxury accommodation.

Your experienced game ranger and local trackers are willing to share their knowledge and love of the African bush with guests. During game drives, which are conducted early in the morning and late in the afternoon, there is so much to discover. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is known for amazing game sightings.

Days 6 & 7: Hippo Hollow, Hazyview, Mpumalanga, South Africa

This morning you get on an early transfer to make your way to the country estate atmosphere of Hippo Hollow for rest and tranquillity. At this lodge you can relax in the restaurant, bar or at the pool. Alternatively there are number of activities nearby.

Activities nearby the lodge include open air drives to Kruger Park, river rafting, fishing, hiking, golfing ( 2 Golf Courses within 1km of the Estate), and scenic helicopter flights over the Blyde River Canyon.

Day 8: Depart

Today you take a scheduled road transfer to the airport for your connecting flight back home, taking wonderful memories of your Mpumalanga tour with you.
